SCHOLARSHIP

Scholastic Achievement

For many years, the overall Panhellenic grade point average has been higher than the All University and the All Women's Average at USC. The following statistics represent GPAs for Spring 2009, respectively.

All Women’s GPA:   3.32

All Sorority GPA:      3.26

Congratulations to:

Each semester, many women achieve 4.0s, and even more are on the Dean's List.

The women of the Panhellenic community have much to be proud of for their scholastic achievements. Not only did we end 2007 with amazing pledge classes for all of the houses, but our all sorority average was also above the all women's average and all of the sororities are in good academic standing. We continually have success among the sororities in maintaining their academics as well as maintaining amazing philanthropic and social schedules. Our VP Scholarship continually encourages sorority women to set and achieve higher goals.

This year, the Panhellenic board intends to work hard to provide the sororities with the ability to maintain their amazing GPAs as well as supporting the fraternities with their own academic pursuits. In addition, we are planning on offering Greeks the opportunity to learn about their own personalities through the Myers Briggs Type Indicator. The individuals who take this test will learn about the strengths and weaknesses of their own personalities, and they will begin to identify the strengths and weaknesses of their friends, family, coworkers, and peers. By completing this self-evaluation process, they will gain the skills necessary to work successfully in any group situation.
